The yellowhammer is one of Ireland’s most colourful birds and it can be found in most parts of the country, particularly around farmland where cereals are grown. As farming practices have changed it is now breeding mostly in the East and South of the country.

Best Sites

Turvey Park Nature Reserve in Dublin in Winter particularly, but anywhere in the east or midlands where cereals are grown is likely to support Yellowhammers.
