Dunlin

Dunlin

The Dunlin is resident all year round although it is here in large numbers in winter, and small numbers in summer. In certain areas it is not unusual for them to gather in their thousands.

Best Sites

Large numbers of Dunlin can be seen in the Shannon Estuary and in Dundalk Bay, Dollymount Beach is likely to have Dunlin along the water line at low tide. They are often seen feeding with Sanderling.
