The Black tailed Godwit is a regular winter visitor along the coasts of Ireland, usually arriving from September and departing in April. Some birds will remain over the summer, but numbers are small. You will typically find them in coastal wetlands and tidal estuaries.

Best Sites

If you are bird watching in Dublin in winter you will find Black Tailed Godwits in Broadmeadows Estuary and Bull Island  Other locations include Cork Harbour, the Shannon Estuary and Dundalk Bay.
