Common Tern

The Common Tern spends the winter month in West Africa and visits Ireland to breed during the Summer. It arrives during April and May and leaves again around October. It can be seen along the coastline hovering and diving for small fish and sand eels.

Best Sites

If you want to go bird watching for terns, Lady’s Island Lake in Rosslare is a great location for all terns. In Dublin, they can be seen at Red Island in Skerries
